FARMER'S MARKETS

Not really art fairs- but often include local artists and craftsmen alongside food and grocery vendors. A relaxed way to see what’s happening locally and discover new work in a very casual setting.

JULY 4th

Celebrations of food, music,  and fireworks over the water will be happening everywhere! Many local artists and makers participate in pop-ups and seasonal markets during this stretch.

* Events listed here are seasonal highlights we think are worth checking out.

ART FOR THE SEASON

Summer Living

Whether the house is filling up with guests, or the days are simply slower and longer, summer is when art becomes part of how a space is actually lived in.

It’s the season of open doors, shared meals, and rooms that feel more relaxed — where artwork isn’t a finishing touch, but part of the atmosphere.

THROUGH THE  ARTIST'S EYES

Lowcountry Summers

Some of the best inspiration isn't found inside a gallery.
It's discovered along quiet marshes, historic streets, shaded gardens, and favorite local traditions.

Water

CHAPTER 1

Color - the seasonal palette

Summer in the Lowcountry softens the landscape into layers of sea glass blues, marsh greens, weathered driftwood, and bright crepe myrtles. Many artists begin with these familiar colors—not to recreate the view, but to capture the feeling of the season.

CHAPTER 2

Water- where everything begins

From winding tidal creeks to calm inland lagoons, water shapes nearly every view in the Lowcountry. Its reflections, movement, and changing light continue to influence many of the landscapes and abstracts found throughout our galleries.

CHAPTER 3

Light - the long afternoon

Summer evenings stretch a little longer here. Warm sunlight filtering through Spanish moss and reflecting across the marsh creates the soft glow that appears again and again in Lowcountry artwork.

CHAPTER 4

Gather - spaces meant to be shared

Summer is a season of open doors, visiting family, and evenings spent together. Original artwork often becomes the backdrop to those moments, helping a house feel collected, welcoming, and lived in.
