ABOUT CAMELLIA ART
Started as a frame shop.
Became somewhere people drive out of their way for.
Independently owned since 1985. We represent 40+ nationally recognized and emerging artists — and we still personally hand build every frame in our studio.
Two locations, one standard: the right piece for the right space.
OUR STORY
Built for art
Founded with a passion for exceptional art and thoughtful presentation, Camellia Art has grown into a trusted resource for fine art, museum-quality custom framing, and art consultation.
We believe artwork should feel intentional — selected with care and displayed beautifully. Over the years, we’ve built lasting relationships with collectors, artists, and design professionals who value quality, authenticity, and personalized service.
WHAT WE DO
Bringing art into the everyday
HOW WE GOT HERE
It began with frames...
The art came soon after.
Camellia Art opened on Hilton Head Island in 1985 as a custom frame shop featuring local folk art and art supplies.
In 2009, believing that the way you present something matters as much as the thing itself, Camellia Art began formally exhibiting local artists. Our small group quickly expanded beyond 20+ artists and kept growing. Today we represent more than 40 nationally recognized and emerging artists across painting, photography, and sculpture from the Lowcountry and beyond.
Today, we are honored to be one of the Lowcounty's most trusted resources for original fine art and museum quality custom framing. We're still independently owned. Still hand-building frames in our studio. Still the kind of place where you can walk in not knowing what you're looking for and leave knowing exactly what belongs on your walls.
