As a contemporary landscape painter, Mary Hubley’s oil paintings are dramatic yet soft. She is known for her dreamy style based on realistic outdoor plain air painting studies, which evolve into larger works in the studio. Mary recently received first place in a Smithsonian Institution Waterways Plein Air exhibition, and her paintings have made their way into fine art collections all over the world.

Mary is influenced by beautiful places she’s visited throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. She grew up in a family of artists and worked for many years doing corporate illustration.

“Art explores the whispers of nature,” says Mary. “Every day that means experiencing the soul of the outdoors and feeling the world in depth, and then translating that on the the canvas.”
