MARY HUBLEY

Artist Bio

Mary Hubley is an award-winning oil painter whose work captures the dramatic yet soft beauty of both the coastal landscape and the quiet elegance of still life. Her paintings, which include luminous still life arrangements, koi fish, and serene coastal marshes, are unified by her deep passion for light, atmosphere, and a single moment of atmospheric change.
Working in the tradition of classical realism with a contemporary sensibility, her art has been described as "dreamy" and "timeless." Mary’s still life paintings capture a sense of quiet intimacy, while her landscapes and koi studies convey the dynamic patterns and intermingling light of the natural world.
"There’s just not enough time in life to paint all of what is possible," says Mary. "My job is to suspend a moment in time, finding the dance between an everyday object or scene and how the sunlight interacts with it."
A Signature Member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society (NOAPS) and an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America (OPA) and the American Impressionist Society (AIS), Mary's work has been accepted into prestigious national shows and has received multiple awards, including several BoldBrush FAV15% and Richeson75 awards. Her paintings are held in private collections across the U.S., Europe, and Canada, and are represented by select galleries.
