A native of Lancaster, South Carolina, Vickie now resides on Hilton Head Island. Having earned a BFA from Winthrop University, she furthered her education in New York at Parsons School of Design. Her affiliations include Beaufort Art Association, Society of Bluffton Artists, Georgia Watercolor Society, Hilton Head Art League, Lancaster County Council on the Arts, Southeastern Pastel Society, Southern Watercolor Society, and the South Carolina Watercolor Society. ARTIST STATEMENT The nude, the most fascinating art subject, is an art form in itself. With endless possibilites in terms of composition and expression the figure remains the subject of choice by the artists since antiquity. My objective is not to reporoduce an image of the human body but to capture the model's state of feeling and evoke an emotion in the viewer.
